SAP announced its agreement to acquire SmartRecruiters, a top talent acquisition software firm. The move enhances SAP’s recruitment automation and AI-driven candidate engagement within the SAP SuccessFactors HCM suite. This strategic acquisition helps SAP deliver a more comprehensive talent acquisition solution, addressing today’s hiring challenges. It ensures customers can attract and retain top talent more efficiently.

SmartRecruiters’ intuitive platform, known for high-volume recruiting and seamless hiring workflows, fits perfectly into SAP’s HR ecosystem. Their user-friendly tools will improve hiring speed, enhance candidate experience, and boost decision-making.

Moreover, embedded analytics and AI from both SAP and SmartRecruiters will provide real-time insights into hiring bottlenecks, talent pipelines, and planning needs.

Enhanced Hiring Experience Across the Funnel

“Hiring top talent is a business-critical goal,” said Muhammad Alam, Executive Board Member, SAP SE. He emphasized that combining forces would help clients manage sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding in one integrated system.

The integrated platform will reduce total cost of ownership while streamlining the experience for recruiters, hiring teams, and candidates alike.

SAP will embed SmartRecruiters’ recruitment automation into its HCM tools, giving users a unified hiring dashboard. Enhanced applicant tracking and screening will make recruitment faster and more compliant.

Importantly, SmartRecruiters’ SaaS platform will remain available as a standalone solution. Over 4,000 organizations worldwide already use its platform to manage end-to-end hiring processes.

SmartRecruiters CEO, Rebecca Carr, shared her excitement: “Our mission is to make hiring easy. Partnering with SAP brings that mission to a global stage.”

She added that the planned acquisition would empower enterprises to adopt a cutting-edge approach to talent acquisition and recruitment automation.

The deal is expected to close in Q4 2025, pending regulatory approvals and other conditions. Financial details have not been disclosed. J.P. Morgan acted as SmartRecruiters’ exclusive financial advisor.
