Nomad Health Positions Itself as an AI Operating System for Healthcare Staffing Firms

Nomad Health Evolves from Staffing Agency to the AI Operating System

Nomad Health officially transitioned today from a traditional staffing agency to a specialized software platform company. The firm will now offer its proprietary AI Operating System to mid-market and enterprise healthcare staffing organizations. This strategic pivot marks the culmination of several years of internal development and technological innovation.

Consequently, Nomad built this platform from within a high-volume staffing operation rather than as an outside vendor. The technology already powers over 15,000 recruiter-less placements and 11 million billed hours of work. Furthermore, the architecture integrates 10,000 client facility rules and years of clinician behavioral data.

“Building Nomad from a staffing operator into a true System of Action has been a privilege and incredibly rewarding,” said Justin Lambert, Nomad’s outgoing CEO. “Tommy’s background in enterprise healthcare software makes him exactly the right leader to scale this infrastructure across the industry.”

In conjunction with this shift, Nomad appointed Tommy Hickey as the new Chief Executive Officer. Hickey brings extensive expertise from his previous tenure at Epic Systems. He specializes in solving complex operational hurdles through advanced enterprise healthcare software.

Solving Modern Staffing Challenges

Traditional healthcare staffing firms currently face shrinking margins and intense compliance pressure. Most existing software stacks were built for an era before AI became a core design input.

“We are a platform built for operators, by operators,” said Hickey. “Every automation and AI model exists to solve a problem we were living with as a staffing operator. Now we’re opening our infrastructure to staffing firms fighting those same battles.”

The new platform features four unified suites, including Clinician, Scout, Middle Office, and Intelligence tools. These suites allow agencies to manage the entire placement lifecycle within a single AI Operating System.
