Maximus recently announced the appointment of Elizabeth Moellering to a critical executive leadership role. She officially assumes the position of General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for the leading government services provider. Moellering will now oversee the global legal department and manage all corporate governance initiatives for the company.
Since February this year, Moellering has served as Interim General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel at Maximus. She joined the company in 2024 as Head of Litigation, where she established a more disciplined approach to managing legal disputes before expanding her responsibilities across the legal function.
Consequently, this transition follows the retirement of the previous legal lead. Moellering will now report directly to the CEO while advising the Board of Directors. Her primary focus involves mitigating enterprise risk and supporting long-term business growth.
The role of General Counsel is important to helping Maximus fulfill our mission assisting governments in the delivery of essential citizen programs,” said Bruce Caswell, President and Chief Executive Officer, Maximus. “I am excited that Elizabeth has accepted this new role serving on our executive team. As we’ve worked together over the past few years, she has demonstrated strong judgment, collaborative leadership, and served as a trusted partner across our business”.
“I’m honored to lead the Maximus legal team at a pivotal time for government services,” said Moellering. “The accelerating adoption of AI and digital innovation is creating new opportunities to help our partners deliver better outcomes, more efficiently and at greater scale, for the millions of citizens they serve. With 50 years of excellence behind us, I’m excited to help Maximus advance our mission and accelerate what’s next.”
In addition to legal oversight, she will manage board communications and shareholder relations. This ensures that Maximus maintains its reputation as a trusted partner in the
sector. Her leadership arrives as the company expands its digital transformation services globally.
