Battery Ventures Elevates Brandon Gleklen to Partner

Battery Ventures

Battery Ventures today announced the promotion of Brandon Gleklen to partner. This major executive elevation reinforces the firm’s long-standing strategy of backing innovative tech startups. Furthermore, Battery Ventures continues supporting early-stage and growth-stage companies across expanding international markets. Gleklen joined the firm back in 2015 and operates out of New York. Specifically, he concentrates on artificial intelligence applications and healthcare technologies.

In his expanded role, Gleklen serves directly on several prominent corporate boards. For instance, he guides healthcare AI pioneers AssistIQ and Triomics alongside HR-tech platform Compt. Additionally, he serves on boards for Letter AI, Procurement Sciences, and application reliability developer Nobl9. Moreover, Gleklen maintains active involvement in ongoing Battery Ventures investments. These include 1mind, Braze, Cohesity, Dataiku, Front, Harness, Customer, and Level AI. His portfolio involvement extends to Lindy, Redox, Reify Health, Shortcut, Workato, Wunderkind, and Bench IQ. Previously, Gleklen managed early investments in Amplitude, Bonfire, InVision, Niantic, and Yesware. Before joining Battery Ventures, he completed finance internships at Bessemer Venture Partners and Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Venture Capital Journal recognized his achievement by naming him to their 2024 Rising Stars List. He holds a BA degree from the University of Pennsylvania.

Enterprise AI Leadership and Key Team Elevations

Concurrently, Battery Ventures announced several key team promotions across its global investment units. Jason Mendel, who joined six years ago in San Francisco, advanced to principal. Mendel focuses heavily on enterprise AI infrastructure investments. Notably, he helped source high-profile deals including Aegis AI, Arize AI, Baseten, ClickHouse, Gong, and Reflection AI. Furthermore, Mendel actively supports current portfolio companies Cypress.io, Postman, Theta Lake, Unify, and Weaviate. He previously worked on exited investments Confluent and Galileo. Before joining Battery Ventures, Mendel managed corporate development at Cisco Systems. He also held roles at Industry Ventures and Deutsche Bank after graduating from Santa Clara University.

“Brandon’s elevation to partner, and Jason’s to principal, recognizes the success both have demonstrated mapping new markets, finding the most innovative players and, post-investment, offering incisive operational and strategic counsel to founders and CEOs,” said Neeraj Agrawal, a Battery general partner who works closely with Gleklen. “Brandon has also played a key role internally in the last few years helping Battery fully understand the power of AI and its potential uses across industries and workflows. We wish both Brandon and Jason continued success in their new roles.”

Expanding Global Venture and Private Equity Footprint

Besides top-tier partner elevations, Battery Ventures strengthened its global associate and vice president ranks. Jack Mattei in New York and Lucas Maiman in San Francisco earned promotions to vice president. Additionally, six investment professionals advanced to associate roles across global offices. These include Abhi Agrawal and Caroline Culmo in San Francisco, alongside Matt Dailey and Erin Ku in New York. Meanwhile, Thomas Marchioni in London and Page Wolfenden in Boston earned associate promotions.

Consequently, these widespread career advancements highlight strong internal talent development at Battery Ventures. The firm continues expanding its operational expertise to support software founders worldwide. Ultimately, these strategic leadership moves position Battery Ventures to dominate competitive venture capital sectors.
