Almedia Tops 100 Fastest-Growing DACH and CEE Startups for Revenue Per Employee

Revenue Per Employee

Almedia has secured the top spot for revenue per employee among the 100 fastest-growing startups in DACH and CEE.

The advertising technology firm located in Berlin was able to generate €2.6m per worker. In addition, the firm topped the list in terms of bootstrapped firms. Moreover, Almedia topped the rankings for Marketing and adtech. Sifted released its Sifted 100: DACH & CEE 2026 ranking on September 9.

The index ranks startups from 25 different countries. The index evaluates the growth of revenue for the last three financial years. Growth is calculated by Sifted using two-year compound annual growth rate. Almedia has achieved 25th rank on the leaderboard. Only two firms have recorded at least €1 million of revenue per employee.

Almedia had the larger number among the two firms. In addition, the firm became part of only five firms that generated more than €100 million in revenue. The outcomes indicate the capacity of Almedia to scale in terms of efficiency. The company was established by Moritz Holländer in Berlin in 2020.

Almedia Drives Growth Through Reward-Based Engagement

Almedia was started by Holländer using funds worth €20,000 out of his personal savings. They chose not to use venture capital for expansion. Instead, it funded growth through income generated from its business activities. This made it the most rapidly growing zero-funding company on the leader board.

Almedia concentrates on an issue that arises in digital advertising. The advertiser needs users that stay loyal after being acquired. Conventional digital advertising systems usually concentrate on impressions, clicks, and installations. Almedia chose to build its platform on rewards-based engagement.

This is an approach that creates room for users to be enticed by the products. Additionally, advertisers can find engaged users through this method. This is made possible by the platform, Freecash, which incorporates machine learning technology and first-party data.

These technologies help to align campaigns with those users who have higher chances of conversion and retention. Hence, Freecash has emerged as a global platform. This platform boasts more than 80 million users. Every month, about 9 million users earn their rewards from Freecash.

Furthermore, more than 60,000 new users become part of the network on a daily basis. The latest ranking is also a result of another prestigious recognition. According to Financial Times FT1000 of 2025, Almedia was named the third fastest growing company in Europe.
