Amazon employee pay

Amazon employee pay is increasing as the company expands compensation and benefits for U.S. core operations employees. The company will invest more than $1.5 billion in higher pay.

Amazon increased its employees’ hourly wages by $1. The minimum starting wage now stands at $20 per hour for eligible full-time core operations workers. Most of these jobs do not need any prior experience. However, on average, the hourly pay is close to $24 per hour.

In the case of benefits being taken into account, average total pay will surpass $32 an hour. New financial and grocery benefits will be added by Amazon for its qualifying workforce. Day 1 Financial will be provided by Amazon through the First Tech Federal Credit Union. It will offer banking services for life to eligible employees and their families.

There is also no charge for account overdrafts and monthly maintenance fees. Traditional checking and savings accounts have no minimum balance requirements. Furthermore, there will be no requirement for a credit history to open the account. There is also availability of thousands of free-of-surcharges ATMs throughout the country. In addition, there is provision for getting up to $300 per year in fees for using out-of-network ATMs.

Meanwhile, Amazon will introduce new grocery discounts on October 1, 2026. U.S. employees will receive an uncapped 10% discount on eligible products. The discount applies to eligible groceries and everyday essentials on Amazon.com. It also applies to Whole Foods Market online purchases.

Employees will get an uncapped discount of 20% off eligible in-store purchases at Whole Foods Market. This benefit will apply to hot bar and salad bar purchases. This is on top of other employee benefits that already exist at Amazon. They include free Prime membership, healthcare, Career Choice, and 401(k) matching.

The firm will also keep providing paid parental leave and flexible time off. Employees have access to 24/7 mental health care via the “Resources for Living” program. The launch of the “Day 1 Financials” benefit will start by late 2026, with widespread availability in 2027.
