Unit4 Plans to Acquire Napta and Advance Skills-Based Resource Management for Business Services Firms

Unit4

Unit4 has made known that it intends to buy Napta, which is a Paris-headquartered skills and intelligence platform for resource management. The acquisition aims at serving the professional and business services companies.  Napta will maintain its own executive leadership, brand identity, and ecosystem after the acquisition.  The platform serves the top consulting, audit, IT, and engineering firms. On the other hand, the acquisition will help in achieving Unit4’s growth objectives in several vertical markets. The verticals include the professional and business services, public services, non-profit, and education sectors.

Expanding Resource Management for Professional Services

Collectively, the two companies would be able to serve the lifecycle of professional services much better. Clients can identify the right projects for themselves and staff them properly.

Already, there are several customers that use both the systems together. So, the combination will integrate skills, capacity, projects, and financial information together. The capabilities of resource management and skills intelligence offered by Napta would complement the solutions provided by Unit4 in ERP, FP&A, and HCM. By bringing skills intelligence, staffing, and capacity planning together with AI-assisted matching, Napta helps professional services organizations to allocate the right employee on the right project.

The rapid growth of Napta has led to them becoming a company that is available to customers in 70 different countries apart from its origin in France. Following this acquisition, the co-founder and CEO of Napta will continue leading the company. The three founders of Napta will continue to stay with the business. Additionally, the two companies would integrate the skills and capacity information along with the projects, financials, and people information.

“The future of professional services organisations is people-first and skills-based, and Napta is the best in the market at putting the right people on the right work,” said Simon Paris, CEO, Unit4. “We have ambitious goals to grow Unit4, and the professional services industry is the largest and fastest growing market among our key verticals making it the logical choice for a strategic acquisition. Today’s announcement is a clear signal of intent to provide our customers with best-in-class products that will help them deliver more value to their clients. It is why we are acquiring Napta, as a fast-growing business, loved by its customers, built for exactly the firms we serve, and expanding in the markets where we are focused.”

“We built Napta to become the European reference in resource management and skills intelligence, and joining Unit4 is how we get there faster,” said Arnaud Caldichoury, co-founder and CEO, Napta. “We chose Unit4 because they share our conviction that professional services is a people business, and because they are committed to investing in what makes Napta successful. For our customers, nothing changes except what gets better: more investment in the product, the same team and the same flexible and customer-oriented approach. Together, we’ll keep raising the bar on resource management and skills intelligence and supporting our clients wherever they operate.”

The business also intends to expand further in professional services, public services, non-profit and educational sectors. The purchase is part of the growth strategy of Unit4. At the same time, the growth of Napta customers is evidence of the demand for better resource planning. Professional services companies are looking for ways to minimize resource administration. In addition, they need to do more billing, be highly utilized, and have improved margins.

Together with AI for Your World program, Unit4 believes that such activities will help to meet future demand. The program offers free-of-charge access to Unit4’s AI until August 2027 for eligible registrations. Unit4 expects that such activities will allow it to get an edge in skills-based resource management.
