Alpha and Omega Semiconductor Limited (AOS) has appointed Joshua Chien as an independent director of its Board of Directors. This was done on July 8, 2026. This was after a recommendation made by the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee.
By adding Joshua Chien to its board, Alpha and Omega Semiconductor gains additional strength in terms of expertise in business development. Supply chain strategy, and operational management. Joshua Chien has a wealth of experience in the technology and electronics manufacturing industries.

Joshua Chien Brings Extensive Industry Experience
Chien currently works as an Executive Vice President and a Product & Strategy Officer at Sonatus, Inc., where he assists in product strategies. Works towards growing their platform in various industries besides the automotive industry. This is done through his advisory firm called DeoNow in the capacity of a fractional executive. Earlier, Chien worked as the Chief Commercial Officer at SMTC Corporation from 2021 until April 2026. He was responsible for all the revenue operations, such as sales, marketing, account management, and Asian operations.
Prior to this, Chien served as Senior Vice President of Global Sales & Marketing at SMTC from 2014 to 2020. During his earlier career experience, he served in various leadership capacities at Sanmina Corporation from 2000 to 2014. Which included the position of Vice President of Global Strategic Business Development & Customer Service.
In addition, Joshua has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley. Also, he is a graduate of the Finance for Executives course from the Harvard Business School. This new position demonstrates Alpha and Omega Semiconductor’s commitment to improving its leadership structure. The firm is making progress in its semiconductor business and generating shareholder value.
