Employee Navigator Boosts AI with Velocity Acquisition

Employee Navigator announced the acquisition of Velocity Benefits’ AI-powered plan-building technology. The company also introduced two new AI features designed to transform benefits administration for brokers and HR professionals.

Velocity Benefits created a proprietary AI tool that extracts plan configuration details from carrier quotes and insurance documents. This AI solution then builds benefit plans directly within Employee Navigator.

Starting October 1, 2025, Velocity’s AI plan-building tool will be fully integrated into the Employee Navigator Marketplace. Velocity will continue supporting brokers through December 31, 2025, after which Employee Navigator will manage all support and maintenance.

“Velocity began serving brokers on Employee Navigator in 2015,” said Joe Duckett, CEO of Velocity Benefits. “Building an AI-driven plan builder was the next step in supporting brokers as the platform expanded to over 5,000 brokers and 195,000 companies.”

New AI Plan Build Tool Launching in October

Alongside the acquisition, Employee Navigator will release a beta version of its own AI Plan Build tool on October 15, 2025. With this tool, brokers can upload carrier quotes and renewals to create benefit plans within minutes.

The AI Plan Build tool enables brokers to expand revenue by offering more voluntary benefits while leveraging integrations with over 500 carriers, payroll providers, and TPAs. It also helps brokers deliver cost-effective benefits administration to smaller employers.

The beta version will be free throughout October. After the trial, brokers will need to license the feature, with costs ranging from $5 to $25 per company, depending on plan volume and document size. Despite the AI tool’s efficiency, Employee Navigator emphasized that carrier-based APIs remain the long-term solution for accuracy and speed.

“AI plan builds represent one of the most significant improvements in our business over the last decade,” said George Reese, Founder and CEO of Employee Navigator. “Brokers can now build a company in 10-20 minutes instead of 3-4 hours, reducing costs and increasing revenue.”

AI Support Assistant Now Live

Employee Navigator also launched a new AI Support Assistant on September 15, 2025. Trained on thousands of real broker questions, the AI Assistant delivers fast and accurate support responses.

The AI team reviews every response daily to maintain 97% accuracy, ensuring brokers receive trusted answers on time. “AI is about both speed and trust,” added Reese. “We invested nearly a year to ensure brokers get precise answers when they need them.”
