Ryan Advances Strategic Leadership with Promotions of Damon Chronis and Matt Travis

Ryan has advanced its leadership team through the promotion of Damon Chronis and Matt Travis. The move strengthens the firm’s strategic direction across the Americas. It also supports long-term growth, innovation, and operational excellence.

The company promoted Chronis to President, Americas. Meanwhile, Travis now serves as President, U.S. Operations. Both leaders bring extensive industry knowledge and years of experience at Ryan. Together, they will help drive business performance and deliver greater value to clients.

“Damon and Matt have each played an important role in shaping Ryan into the Firm we are today,” said G. Brint Ryan, Chairman and CEO at Ryan. “Their longstanding tenures reflect years of trusted leadership and a deep commitment to our culture and clients. I have had the privilege of watching them both grow within the organization and consistently lead with integrity, vision, and purpose. As they take on these expanded roles, I am excited to see the impact their partnership will have on our team members, the clients we serve around the world, and Ryan’s future.”

Damon Chronis and Matt Travis Take Expanded Leadership Roles

Chronis joined Ryan in 1999 after graduating from the University of New Mexico. He began his career in the Sales and Use Tax practice. Over the years, he helped expand several tax practices across the firm. He also contributed to fuel tax exemption and ticket excise tax strategies. These efforts generated more than one billion dollars in tax savings.

As President, Americas, Chronis will oversee operations across the United States, Canada, and Latin America. His responsibilities include market expansion, acquisitions, client development, and financial performance.

“We’re entering an exciting period for Ryan where we can truly serve our purpose at scale,” said Damon Chronis, President, Americas. “We have the best team in tax, bar none. Our domain expertise, combined with our technology capabilities, means we can support clients across the globe with unmatched capacity and further strengthen our reputation for excellence.”

Matt Travis began his Ryan journey as an intern in 2002. Later, he joined EnerTax and eventually led the business. He returned to Ryan following the company’s acquisition of EnerTax in 2015. Since then, he has helped expand one of Ryan’s leading specialty tax practices.

As President, U.S. Operations, Travis will oversee daily operations across the U.S. business. In addition, he will support strategic planning, investments, acquisitions, and operational execution.

“Ryan has always been a place where people with drive and ideas can build something meaningful—not just for clients, but for their own careers and families,” said Matt Travis, President, U.S. Operations. “Having started my journey as an intern more than two decades ago, it’s incredibly rewarding to step into this role at such a pivotal time for the Firm. I truly believe Ryan represents the best of the tax industry. With our exceptional tax practitioners and leadership teams, we have nothing but opportunity ahead.”
