Unum Group Elevates Andrew Walker to Executive Vice President, Chief Customer Operations Officer

Unum Group announced an important corporate promotion today. The prominent insurer elevated Andrew Walker to Executive Vice President. Crucially, Walker will also serve as the Chief Customer Operations Officer. He will continue to lead the company’s vital Customer Operations organization. In this capacity, he manages the primary teams and digital transformation efforts. These programs directly support how Unum Group serves its diverse partners and corporate clients.

Walker initially joined Unum Group back in 2025. He first served as Senior Vice President within the same unit. Since his arrival, he has successfully targeted key areas to boost efficiency. He focused heavily on strengthening operational performance across departments. Furthermore, he simplified complex legacy processes. He also advanced critical strategic initiatives. These efforts support better final outcomes for customers and the broader business.

Now, as an Executive Vice President, Walker commands all customer-facing operational divisions. His vast oversight includes core benefit operations and service delivery. He also controls major transformation initiatives. These programs reinforce Unum Group’s deep commitment to delivering for clients during critical moments.

Proven History of Corporate Leadership

Walker brings a wealth of corporate experience to this elevated role. Before joining Unum Group, he performed as Executive Vice President at Western Union. He also served as their Chief Operations Officer. Additionally, he held senior operational leadership roles at USAA. He built an impressive track record at Nationwide as well.

Educationally, Walker earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. He graduated from Herbert Lehman College in New York. Later, he completed the specialized Bank Administration Institute program. This executive course took place at Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management. The curriculum was very oriented towards innovation, marketing strategy, and modern banking leadership. This background allows him to effectively move the Customer Operations organization forward.
