ZipRecruiter Unveils ‘Be Seen First’ to Help Job Seekers Jump to the Top of the Resume Pile

ZipRecruiter

ZipRecruiter recently introduced a new feature called Be Seen First to help job seekers stand out. This product allows candidates to move their applications to the top of the resume pile. Many people feel lost in an application black hole during their job search. This tool aims to change that experience. Applicants can now add a short note to their submission. This note explains why they fit the role well.

Employers often face a sea of hundreds of digital applications. Because of this, great candidates can stay buried at the bottom. The Be Seen First feature helps recruiters identify high-intent applicants through a dedicated dashboard. This helps recruiters screen and hire people much faster. Internal data shows that users of this tool are nearly twice as likely to start a conversation with an employer.

“Those few words put your best foot forward and help an employer instantly see who you are. Be Seen First gives job seekers a way to rise to the top instead of starting at the bottom of the pile,” said Megan Allen, Chief Product Officer at ZipRecruiter.

The feature is currently available on tens of thousands of job listings. Eligible jobs will display a distinct purple badge on the platform. This helps users identify where they can use the boost.

Enhancing the Modern Hiring Process

Candidates can now showcase their communication skills and enthusiasm directly. This context goes beyond what a traditional resume provides. By taking this extra effort, job seekers signal their genuine interest to hiring teams.

“In a sea of applications, a short, optional note becomes a powerful signal of intent, communication skills, and fit. Hiring teams want to move quickly from scanning applications to having real conversations, and they’re eager to prioritize candidates who take extra effort to show their enthusiasm,” said Scott Steinberg, VP of Job Seeker Product at ZipRecruiter.
