Wood possesses over 15 years of leadership experience in banking in Raleigh. As per her new position, Wood will spearhead the development of the multi-year strategy for commercial activities at First Horizon. She will be responsible for fostering growth in addition to enhancing the experience of clients. Moreover, Wood will discover high impact areas in AI and technology. This will facilitate commercial onboarding, origination, underwriting, and servicing operations.

Wood has built a strong career within First Horizon Bank. Most recently, she served as Head of Commercial Portfolio Management. In that position, she managed strategic initiatives supporting commercial banking operations.
Catherine Wood Brings Extensive Banking Leadership Experience
Prior to her current role, Wood has been handling commercial and corporate portfolio managers. In addition to that, she has also been responsible for leading credit analysts in both North Carolina and Virginia. Prior to joining First Horizon, she was serving as a Credit Administration Manager of TrustAtlantic Bank. First Horizon had acquired TrustAtlantic Bank in the year 2015. This is yet another indication of the growing commercial banking of First Horizon Bank.
Beyond her professional responsibilities, Wood remains committed to community initiatives. She developed a financial literacy program for children between the ages 5 and 12. The program was created at The Daniel Center for Math and Science in Raleigh.
Also, Wood has been the President of the Board of Directors at Meals on Wheels of Wake County in the past. She shows her dedication towards financial literacy and social contributions through her community service work.
