Securian Financial teams up with Workday Wellness to elevate employee benefits experiences. The partnership will allow employers, employees, and benefits providers to build stronger connections. As a partner of Workday Wellness, Securian is widening its collaboration with Workday as the platform offers employee benefits administration services for many of Securian’s clients. The company intends to start developing integrations of Workday Wellness by 2027. Additionally, it plans to offer other features up to 2028.
Building Connected Employee Benefits Technology
Workday Wellness is designed to facilitate relationships between employers and benefit vendors. Moreover, it provides an embedded benefits experience, as well as efficient data transfer through APIs.
This collaboration will help Securian enhance connectivity for its joint clients. Furthermore, this solution should simplify the administration of benefit programs.
“Employers increasingly expect their benefits technology and insurance providers to work together seamlessly, and joining Workday Wellness is an important step in delivering that experience,” said Leslee Russell, enrollment platforms manager for Securian Financial’s Employee Benefits Solutions business. “By creating more direct, real-time connections between Workday and Securian, we can make benefits administration easier for employers, improve the experience for employees and continue meeting our customers where they choose to manage their benefits.”
Securian’s first phase of Workday Wellness development will include APIs related to workers’ data and enrollment. Such capabilities will be able to provide information exchange for employees, eligibility, and enrollment, as well as real-time evidence of insurability (EOI). In addition, the use of APIs can facilitate information exchange between benefits platforms and insurers. Such practice can serve as an alternative to conventional file-based integration practices.
Expanding Benefits Integration Capabilities
Securian’s partnership also includes Securian Platform Connect, an initiative that provides faster data connectivity between Securian and benefits administration solutions through the use of API. Using Workday Wellness, Securian plans on offering flexible connectivity options. Such connectivity options will work alongside technology that customers have been using.
“Benefits technology continues to evolve quickly, and our customers are looking for solutions that make it easier to connect their systems and manage their programs,” Russell said. “Our participation in Workday Wellness positions Securian to build the next generation of integrations our customers will need and helps us deliver a simpler, more connected benefits experience over time.”
Securian Financial offers group life insurance and supplemental health coverage across the country. The two companies that offer these services include Securian Life Insurance Company and Minnesota Life Insurance Company.
Furthermore, Securian Financial is the third largest direct writer of group life insurance in the nation. As such, their Workday Wellness collaboration continues to invest in connected benefit technologies.
