Eightfold AI Appoints Joe Korngiebel as CEO to Lead Its Next Phase of Growth

Eightfold AI

Eightfold AI, the company that pioneered the AI-based talent intelligence platform, has named Joe Korngiebel as the new chief executive officer of the company. This is part of the next phase of growth as more firms continue to adopt AI-enabled talent management systems. Korngiebel takes over from the co-founder of the company, Ashutosh Garg, who has been at the helm for ten years, leading Eightfold AI to become a leading AI firm among Fortune 500 firms. However, customer adoption of the firm’s agentic AI products has surged four times in one year. Garg will stay in the company as chairman of the board.

Expertise in Building Enterprise HR Software

Korngiebel has over three decades of expertise in the development of enterprise HR software. He was part of the early team of Workday when he joined the firm in 2006. Later he worked as the CTO of the firm until 2020.

Korngiebel’s more recent position was that of executive vice president and chief strategy, product, and technology officer for Dayforce. In this role, he contributed to the transformation of the company from a provider of payroll and workforce management solutions to a human capital management solution provider.

As the CEO of Eightfold AI, Korngiebel is poised to lead the company as enterprise AI agents assume workplace roles. According to him, businesses can add value through human capital combined with AI.

“I have spent my career building the platforms that run HR for some of the world’s largest organizations,” said Korngiebel. “Today, organizations need intelligence that acts on top of those platforms: understanding what their people can do, and helping them act on it as AI changes how work gets done. Eightfold is built for this moment, and I am honored to lead it.”

Leadership Transition Supports Continued Innovation

Garg felt confident about the achievements of the company and its new leadership. He emphasized the success of the team in making organizations employ individuals depending upon their abilities.

“Ten years ago, we set out to enable hiring based on potential. This team did that, and then some,” said Garg. “I couldn’t be prouder of what we built together or more excited to hand the baton to Joe. He pairs real product vision with a deep respect for customers, and he is exactly the leader for Eightfold’s next decade of innovation. I’ll stay close to the Eightfold team as chairman of the board.”

Under Korngiebel’s leadership, Eightfold AI is set to improve its talent intelligence. The firm will keep offering its services that allow organizations to know about the skills of their workers, develop them, and utilize them properly. It is important to note that the change in the firm’s leadership happens amid the search for ways AI agents can help in making workplace decisions.
