Metro Atlanta

UCB Top Workplaces Award recognizes UCB among leading employers across Metro Atlanta for 2026. Axios selected UCB for the 2026 Metro Atlanta Top Workplaces Award based on employee feedback. The recognition comes as UCB expands its operations and investment across Georgia.

UCB runs its U.S. headquarters from metro Atlanta and has been operating in Atlanta for over 30 years now. Currently, the company has a workforce of over 400 employees in the state of Georgia. Furthermore, UCB is enhancing its position in the state’s emerging life sciences industry.

This year, UCB has announced its plan to invest $2 billion in a biomanufacturing campus. The campus will be located in Gwinnett County, Georgia. More than 330 permanent positions with high-level skills will be created by the campus. Moreover, the total economic impact of this project could reach up to $5 billion.

“This recognition is especially meaningful because it reflects the voices and experiences of our people,” said Taco van Tiel, Head of UCB, U.S. “As UCB continues to invest in Georgia, including through our planned U.S. biologics manufacturing site, our ability to attract and support top talent will be central to delivering on our purpose for patients. We are proud to be part of the metro Atlanta community and to continue building a workplace where employees feel empowered to contribute, grow, and make an impact.”

UCB Strengthens Its Georgia Presence Through Major Investment

The UCB Top Workplaces Award also highlights the company’s focus on attracting and retaining skilled employees. UCB says its workplace culture supports innovation and reliable medicine supplies for U.S. patients.

Less than 60 metro Atlanta companies in that employee segment were selected for the accolade by Axios. The accolade goes to organizations that have between 159 and 499 employees. In addition, Energage gave the award to the organizations based on anonymous input from employees only. UCB had won the award before in 2021.

“Creating an environment where talented people can do their best work is fundamental to our success at UCB. This recognition reflects the culture our employees have helped build, one rooted in collaboration, growth, and a shared commitment to improving the lives of people living with severe diseases,” said Michele Ehler, Head of U.S. Talent, UCB, “We always strive to create a workplace where employees feel valued and empowered to make a difference, and we remain focused on investing in them as we grow and advance our mission in the years ahead.”

Moving forward, UCB will continue investing in its people, culture, and career development initiatives. The company will support growth and patient commitments. UCB is also working towards ensuring that the workplace becomes one that encourages the development of meaningful work.
